The results of the first round of the questionnaire, which did not include Doug Mann, because he declared too late to receive one, are found in this article in the Southside Pride. Below is a larger version of the graph of candidates stances on the questions we deemed to be Yes/No (well, pretty much) along with their overall grades, and also with Doug Mann added in. This was published in May 2013, and things have moved on a bit in the Mayoral race. Doug Mann returned a questionnaire that was the highest grade so far. We had a City Convention with the DFL candidates, and the two front-runners - Betsy Hodges and Mark Andrew - emerged, although neither one with an endorsement. Gary Schiff dropped out of seeking endorsement and then a few days later withdrew from the race entirely, asking his supporters to unite behind Betsy Hodges. You may notice, upon perusing the chart or the article, that those same two front-runners, Hodges and Andrew, both failed the Minneapolis FLA Questionnaire. We have decided, therefore, to offer each of them a second crack at it. Also, a few more dark-horse candidates have entered the race. I am not going to go through all the tedium of trying to connect with them (I did that for this round, and decided once in a lifetime was enough) but if you are such an overlooked-by-the-FLA candidate and want to do the questionnaire, get in touch with me (Debs) at minneapolisfla-at-g-mail-dot-com and I will email you one and it will be graded and publicized in some manner.

This is just some of the answers that determined the overall grade |
The 'C' grade for Bob Carney Jr. reflects the fact that he is primarily a single issue candidate. We all liked very much the creativity and thoughtfulness of his Transportation Revolution, and feels that policy makers should look at it but could not give a high grade on the questionnaire to someone who did not address the breadth of issues facing the city.
